Objectives, Rationales and Methodologies of Graffiti Project

  

 Rationale / Objectives

• To investigate and understand the graffiti in HK and its role.
• To explore graffiti as a youth culture in HK and the youth’s position for their practice of graffiti writing.
• To examine whether graffiti is taken as ART or not, and graffiti writer is artist or not.
• To investigate the legal issue on graffiti practice.
• To explore the modern values on graffiti practice.
• To construct and provide an online locative platform as a databank and a discussion space on graffiti for the general public in order to raise their interest on graffiti – an E-book about Graffiti.

 

理論基礎及研究宗旨

•     研究探索和瞭解香港街上塗鴉及其扮演的角色。    
•     探索香港街上塗鴉作為一種青少年文化和街上塗鴉的實踐與青少年之關係。
•     街上塗鴉是否作為藝術和塗鴉創作者是否稱為藝術家之問題上去進行探索和瞭解。
•     探究街上塗鴉的法律責任問題。
•     探索街上塗鴉實踐的現代價值。
•     去創建一個網上平台，為公衆提供一個以香港塗鴉為主題的討論空間，並同時提供一個有關香港塗鴉發展的網上地點格作式數據資料庫，作為一本關於香港街上塗鴉的電子圖書，特此提升公衆對街上塗鴉的進一歩認識和興趣。

 

 

 Methodologies

•       Literature review – history, types and styles, motivation, case studies.
•       Outdoor observation and ethnographic research.
•    Interviewing – both unstructured and semi-structured interviews, together with site visit by video documenting.

 

研究方法

•     塗鴉之基礎認識：塗鴉的歷史回顧、類型和創作動機，及塗鴉之専題研究。
•     分別採用戶外實地觀察和民族志學之研究方式去探討香港塗鴉。
•     同時亦會作現場採訪，通過無特定結構和半特定結構的採訪方法，並利用錄像紀録形式去研究探討香港塗鴉。
